PEERS® Group Richmond

In partnership with Hearts Together Therapy, PEERS® Group Richmond offers evidence-based social skills training for teens and young adults who want to build and maintain meaningful friendships and relationships. Based on the world-renowned PEERS® program developed at UCLA, our group is led by a Certified PEERS® Trainer to deliver this proven approach.
Social Skills for Youth and Teens
Whether you're navigating the social world for the first time or looking to strengthen existing connections, the PEERS® program provides practical tools and real-world strategies in a supportive group setting. Each session is interactive, structured, and designed to help participants learn coping skills to manage life's stressors.
PEERS® Group Richmond will be run by three BIPOC-identified therapists/behavioural consultants experienced in serving youth with autism with mental health symptoms.

About PEERS® Social Skills Training
PEERS Group Richmond is passionate about supporting youth to build positive social skills experiences. We pride ourselves in having our group members leave the group with a new friend. Are you someone who finds it difficult to talk in social situations with youth your age? Do you feel like your peers don’t understand you or think you are different? Do you want to learn how to meet new people and share your hobbies with them? Then this is the group for you!!! Let’s learn how to get and keep friends together in this amazing social skills group.
In working with neurodiverse children, we believe in the power of playfulness and activity to spark creativity and growth. Whether we're exploring new ideas, having fun, or working through challenges together, our goal is to make sure everyone feels welcomed and supported.
Let's embark on this journey together and make some amazing memories!
The youth are hand-selected and screened for social readiness and likelihood that they will benefit from the group program before they are enrolled. We want to make sure they’re a good fit for the group so that they will have the greatest benefit.
As a part of the program, the youth WILL be required to have a 1:1 behavioural interventionist or supportive adult to act as a social coach to complete practical PEERS homework each week!
